Merlot EN

Merlot – comes from France, it is a random crossing of varieties Madlenka blue (no longer existing variety) and Cabernet franc. It originates in France, where it was documented in the 14th century in Bordeaux and its name comes from the French ‚blackbird‘ – since these birds are very much looking for it here – in France it is an early variety and their first feed. Merlot is the second most widespread variety in the world after Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are ruby to dark garnet in color depending on the yield, the aroma of overripe blackcurrants and josts. In the aroma and taste you can find black cherries, plums, compote, figs, roses to tobacco, truffles, coffee, chocolate or even dense fruit cakes.
